When you come to realize that the world is mostly composed of unthinking repetition, imitation and competition, the forms eternally returning because everyone's just playing the game, the prospect of ever resting back into the simplicity of the social forms fades, and you see that the task is to have conscious existence within these forms -- that is life, and we will only have so much of it.
