Much of modern (yes) life involves putting ourselves into the stream of things and letting the way things are be our instructor. But, said the doubtful one, we have it within us to judge and know the nature of the time and the way things are. Perhaps this is now a historical question, i.e., our choice will bring a change in the way things are.
One element of the situation that should be kept in mind: the character of the present political leadership of my country isn't accidental, or unrealted to the basic social reality. When you think in this way, these are the sorts of things that you get, even if they are contrary to your stated political views.
