Shambolic, sort of doing somersaults over itself, and then straightening up and trying to act a bit regal, but too dizzy to stand. It might be different in the hall, but this reading just seems a bit too frayed at the edges.
Flip side, though, only a UK or American orchestra would be this free with it. Though freedom can be unwieldy at times.
