Clipped under fair use from today's Times -- a photo of the large protest last year in the country to the east. The photoshop-genius arrow indicates my Humble Quarters at the time, which was either the lit windows in the frame or another set of lit windows just above the frame. Quite the ruckus.
As I was a neutral tourist, I thought it wrong to swell the crowd by adding one to the number (presence is protest in these situations), and I thought (correctly, as it turned out) that it would be impossible to get back to the apartment afterwards, so I stayed in that day, but I did wander the city the night before, which was interesting. I still have the sleeve from the Sbux (at the bottom of the cylindrical building on the right) from the day before. (Sbux name: "Gandhi.")
