Interesting -- massive drone show in Texas, set a world record. But there were no spectators, it was simply an exercise in developing the capability. A technology is emerging that is perhaps being understood as spectacle, but fundamentally has to do with other things, much as bitcoin is understood as a lottery, but the machine that has emerged has little to do with scratching tickets. The quintessence of schein, perhaps. What we perceive things as allows us to perceive them, but then it takes some thinking before we realize that the stick in the water isn't bent.
